West Seattle is a collection of close-knit eclectic neighborhood nodes, each with their own personality, flavor and amenities. And all are within a short walk, bike ride or neighborhood bus ride from Link.
Known as "The Heart of West Seattle" the Alaska Junction (or just The Junction to locals) boasts the largest collection and variety of shops, restaurants and entertainment venues in West Seattle. Whether you're taking in a play at ArtsWest, noshing on exquisite culinary treats from Fresh Bistro or getting schooled on what's new in the music scene from the experts at Easy Street Records, you're sure to find engaging and entertaining activities in the Junction. Best of all is the easy stroll back to your apartment at Link!
Just a three minute drive or 15 minute walk from LINK, the Morgan Junction is one of the newest happening destinations in West Seattle. Flush with restaurants and bars – you will be able to spend an entire evening bouncing from place to place. Feel like taking your pup to the Pub? The Beveridge Place Pub not only serves up some of the best ales and wine around – but also is furry friendly. Enjoy some of the best Italian and Greek food in town at the local restaurants. Maybe you feel like a specialty cocktail and some rock history. Check out the Feedback Lounge, which hosts Rock Trivia every Tuesday evening. If perusing the aisles of a specialty store is more your thing…check out Thriftway for groceries, unique gifts, a great wine selection and some of the best baked goods around.
Just a couple miles north of LINK, is the recently revived Admiral Junction. For decades, locals have flocked to the newly refurbished Admiral Twin Theatre – complete with a nautical theme, movies under $6 and snacks that don't break the bank. In need of some relaxation? Try out the Head to Toe spa for anything from a manicure to a massage…or if you're just looking for a good glass of wine and some of the best ambiance around, head to the Cask for a little slice of heaven. Pubs, restaurants and bars galore infest this three block radius…whether you're a karaoke fiend – a wine snob or just in need of some good grub…this neighborhood will give you what you want.
Alki Beach is just a hop, skip and a jump from your front door. As the official birthplace of Seattle, some might say Alki has a bit of a split personality. In the summer, Alki Beach is the place to see and be seen – swimsuits, motorcycles, car shows, kayaking, cocktails on the deck and bonfires. Seattlites from near and far flock to this local paradise. However, in the winter, Alki Beach belongs to the locals. Whether you are looking for a great place to walk, bike or run – you want a tasty meal at one of the many restaurants on the strip – or you just need a place to look at the views of the mountains and city…this stretch of waterfront will not disappoint. Alki Beach is where a cup of coffee and some fresh air can be just the kind of therapy you were looking for.
