Long time locals tend to think of West Seattle as an island unto itself, and with so many great neighborhood amenities it's easy to see why you wouldn't find it necessary to leave. But the truth is that West Seattle is connected to Downtown Seattle and the greater Puget Sound region by a fantastic network of transportation choices.

Whether it's a short 15 minute express bus ride to Downtown Seattle, or a scenic (and also quick) trip from Colman Dock to Downtown on the West Seattle Water Taxi, or even a quick bike ride on dedicated bike paths and lanes, you're sure to find a transportation option that is fast and meets your needs.
